An organisation working for the future of yachting in the Principality

The Cluster Yachting Monaco is a centre of competitiveness uniting interdependent organisationsand companies in the same sector, that aims to unite all professionals working in the Monaco marketplace.

The Cluster is an actìon taken by a top-level council of the Monaco Government (Conseil Strategique pour l’attractivité). Its primary aims is to provide a platform for dialogue and a united body to lobby decision-makers to encourage interaction; implement synergies between professionals; and embrace industry related activities to give fresh impetus to local businesses.

Our maìn objective is to make of Monaco the ‘Worldwide Capital of luxury yachting“.

With 300+ companies operating in the yachting sector, the principality is world number three after the USA and France in Brokerage & yacht
Management.

Our objectives for 2025:
– More than l billion euros of turnover in Monaco
– More than 1800 employments on land
– More than 100 million euros of VAT Revenue
All recognise that such a signìficant industry deserves a higher profile both locally and on the ìnternational stage.

Dialogue and consultation with authorities a priority.
To meet the Cluster’s objectives outlined above, four working groups meet regularly to advance projects in four key areas:
– Developing and promoting ‘Destination Monaco’
– Busìness development
– Tax, legislation and finance
– Communication and training.

A VIP pontoon to welcome owners on stopovers
lnstalled in the YCM Marina with the collaboratìon of the yacht Club de Monaco, the pontoon provides a privileged welcome to superyacht owners calling into the Principality, particularly if they are anchored in the bay of Monaco.

Dìrectory of companies
Compilation of a directory of 300+ organisations operating direcly and indirectly in the Monegasque yachting sector.

Study of yachting’s economic implications for Monaco
Having compiled the Directory, and with the help of Monaco’s statistics body IMSEE, the Cluster identified annual revenues of 750 million by a workforce of 1,400. The survey is carried out every year to show how this dynamic sector is evolvìng.

lntroduction of a Luxury Master with yachting specialisation in collaboration with the International University of Monaco

Until now, there was no course dedicated to yachting jobs for young people, many of whom know nothing about the sector. It is why the Cluster has run sessìons giving information on yachting trades at the Yacht Club de Monaco since 2015, and worked with the lnternational University of Monaco on a yachting module which has been integrated into a Luxury and Management Master offered by the IUM (partner of INSEEC), which allows students to fully immerse themselves in the sector.

A world first, the curriculum starts with a 15-hours module from September to November to ìntroduce students to the yachting world and its products and services, with a focus on owners. They can attend events in the Principality linked to yachting, such as the Monaco yacht Show and visit a yacht. For students who go on to choose this option the second semester from January to June focuses on the yachting specialisation.

Winter events to extend season including an annual yachting Rendez-vous and Spring Pop-Up forums to discuss how to build a joint future
Every year some 300 people attend the association’s events which include an annual Cluster Yachting Monaco Rendez-vous forum held in June in the Yacht Club de Monaco, attended by ministers and majority of professionals in the yachting sector. lt also runs a Spring pop-Up in May, with some 15 boats on display in the YCM Marina and talks on topical subjects affecting the sector.
