SEPM (Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco) : What sustainable projects are ongoing in our two harbours? Olivier Lavagna, Deputy Director General
Monaco’s Port Hercule is a natural bay at the foot of the ancestral rock of the Princes of Monaco.
It is one of the few, if not the only deep-water harbour on the French Riviera.
On the other side of the rock, in the heart of the Fontvieille district, the other harbour is a proper marina offering all the conveniences and facilities to passing and resident yachtsmen alike.
During the presentation by Olivier Lavagna, we realised the importance SEPM gives to an ecological transition towards more eco-friendly practices to protect the environment.
For example, SEPM has contracted its partners and electricity suppliers to provide 100% green sourced electrical power as requested by boats.
It was also clear that there is real synergy between the two Cluster Yachting Monaco partners, SEPM and Ecotank. According to Mr Lavagna, the two are used to working together to preserve the environment in the Principality’s two main harbours.
