Cluster Yachting Monaco celebrates 5 year
The Cluster Yachting Monaco celebrated its fifth anniversary with a networking cocktail for some 120 yachting professionals and Monaco government representatives, bringing together old, new and future members of this association. It was an ideal opportunity to present the road map for 2020.
“I congratulate all members for their hard work and achievements to date. It is important that we continue to work together to make our sector competitive given the competition from other places, and to continue to develop this flourishing industry in the Principality,” commented Cluster President, Bernard d’Alessandri.
His remarks were echoed by the association’s two Vice-Presidents, Espen Oeino and Edouard Mousny, and its Treasurer, Laurent Certaldi. All want this positive momentum to continue over the next 20 years, with the support of Monegasque bodies, including the government, authorities and organisations present at the cocktail.
A packed programme for 2020 awaits members, with the Cluster set to attend four major boat shows, those in Dubai, Singapore, Palm Beach and Sydney, as the ambassador of yachting excellence and expertise in the Principality. Other key projects include more preparatory work before implementing a common charter for the profession, and courses for newcomers to the sector through the YCM’s training centre, La Belle Classe Academy.
Dates for the diary:
- 4th Spring Pop-Up, 30th April 2020, an event on the latest news in the sector with 15 charter yachts on display in the YCM Marina.
- Les Rendez-vous du Cluster Yachting Monaco, scheduled for June 2020, which this year focuses on the new generation of yachting professionals and owners.
- Working on how to further develop the VIP Pontoon reception, in place each year from June to September in the YCM Marina.
These projects are all part of the Principality’s ambition to position itself as a centre of yachting excellence on every level.
A reminder
Launched in November 2014 on the initiative of its President, Bernard d’Alessandri, the Cluster Yachting Monaco is one of the actions adopted by a top-level committee set up by the Monaco Government (Conseil Stratégique pour l’attractivité). Headquartered in the Yacht Club de Monaco’s prestigious new building, its principal objective is to provide a platform for businesses based in Monaco and help create synergies between professionals. It is open to all activities linked to yachting.
